I Don’t Know Why They Keep Kidnapping Me

General News

I don

Shortly after her release, the aged mother of ex-Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, broke down in tears as she wondered why kidnappers won’t let her be.

The Octogenerian who was released today September 29, after being in the kidnappers den for 11 weeks, wept as she recounted her experience to journalists.

With tears trickling down her face, Madam Siasia said

“I dont know why they keep kidnapping me. Only God knows.  I was at my house when they came to kidnap me. They took me to the place. They took care of me.

“I was sick and they bought the drugs. They cooked and gave to me. They didn’t beat me. There were days that there was no food. Those days they drank garri and gave me garri to drink too.

“Sometimes, they cooked soup, prepare garri and we ate. But on Sunday, they told me we had stayed for too long and they were tired of our problem. They carried us on a flying boat and dropped us in a village. I dont know the name of the village.

“The carried us to their chairman place. I don’t even know the man. They called Seifa and Seifa came. As I am talking to you, I am not well. Before they took me I was not well. I want to go to the hospital. They built small house and use tarpaulin to cover the top. That was where they kept us.

They keep worrying me because they said my son, Siasia is rich and a millionaire”.

The horrible challenge pierced the striker’s skin, leaving a deep gash in his right leg.

The Guadalajara centre-back was sent off for the foul and he is also likely facing a lengthy ban for his tackle.

Club América’s Twitter account confirmed that there wasn’t a bone injury, but that dos Santos, who joined the club in July, suffered a quadriceps injury and will be out about 6 weeks.

#BBNaija: I am Not Responsible For Tacha’s Disqualification – Ex-BBN Contestant Khloe

#BBNaija: I am not responsible for Tacha

Khloe has refuted claims on social media that her Instagram post questioning the integrity of Big Brother might have remotely caused the disqualification of controversial contestant Tacha. Tacha was disqualified form the ongoing BBNaija Pepper dem season, following her faceoff with fellow contestant, Mercy.

Khloe after the faceoff, took to instagram to inquire from Big Brother if the rule book used during her set that led to her disqualification from the show, isn’t the same for the contestants of this season.  Read here.

Hours after her post, Tacha was disqualified. Some people insinuated that Khloe’s post facilitated Big Brother’s decision to disqualify Tacha.

Here is a post Khloe shared on her Instagram page refuting this claim.

I have gotten a lot of Tags and Mentions from some uncultured people claiming someone was disqualified because of my rant earlier.
I am very sure you all are aware I didn’t mention names neither did I tag anyone. I was talking about my own situation, my season and this season in general, yet some persons are saying It was directed at someone.

Tacha wasn’t the only party involved in the situation, if she was disqualified because of my rant then Mercy will also be out!
Since the beginning of this season I have shown nothing but love to this contestant as I was glad she’s one of the people that got in after all the social media drama during her auditions, why will I in turn want to sabotage her stay in the house?

I have come to a conclusion that most of you calling me out are sick hence I will not give any more press to this as it is a waste of highlight. And for those asking if me and kbrule did media runs? If you check you’ll see all the media runs we did with Vandora and Deeone. Please be guided. Peace be unto the ones that mind their business  Happy Sunday

Ghanaians Should Ignore The Confused NDC And Take The Destabilisation Plot Seriously

Ghanaians Should Ignore The Confused NDC And Take The Destabilisation Plot Seriously

Over the past weeks, Ghana’s media and political space, have been buzzing with the breaking of the news by the information minister, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, of an attempt by a group of unwholesome Ghanaians, to destabilize the country in order to take over the reigns of government.

It’s worrying how we as a people, treat issues of national security. Regardless of the level of distrust one may have for government, it’s important that, before we proceed to make a joke of such disclosures by government, we reflect a bit in order not to compromise our own safety. More worrying, is how a section of the media and some security analysts, led the charge in mocking the announcement of government, without the benefit of the details of the issue, available to government.

Having said that, the NDC appears to be jittery since the news broke. As if they have been put into a defensive mode, they have sought to forcefully accuse Government of diversionary tactics. Is it not curious to ask why the NDC has been discomforted by the news when no one has accused them of complicity? Is it the case of the dry bones and old age?

The reckless posture of the NDC, which was this week given weight, by their flagbearer, former president, Mahama, goes to chip away the little credibility left of the NDC, as an alternative government. As a serious political party, they could have used their minority in parliament to ask for further details from Government rather than resort to this infantile political approach.

We note that last week on Joy FM’s newsfile, the venerable Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, shocked the entire nation by giving a tip of the information available to the state security apparatus. His reluctant disclosure, shocked the NDC panelist, Hon Inusah Fuseini, on the show. Thereafter, we have seen a reversal of the seemingly social media trolling of government, led by the footsoldiers of the clueless NDC. This is a lesson to the NDC.

There can be no justification for anyone to contemplate an overthrow of Government in this age of our democratic experiment. Previous overthrows have proven to be worst and many analysts have opined that, military juntas in our history, are the cause of Ghana’s underdevelopment. Indeed a worst democratic government is a million times better than the best military government.

We are calling on Government to speed up investigations into the matter and prosecute those involved accordingly, to serve as a deterrent to others. Further, we ask all commentators to be measured in discussing this sensitive national security issue. Casting doubts on the security establishment of the state is a dangerous phenomenon and could be used as a leverage for miscreants to visit mayhem on our country. This is why we ask security analysts not to fall for NDC’s cheap political game lest they embarrass themselves after the facts are made available.

Communications Director.

Hamilton Snatches Sochi Win After Ferrari Fail To Make Advantage Count

Ferrari looked set to end Mercedes’ dominant run at the Sochi Autodrom, but in the space of a few seconds, their hopes of victory vanished, with championship leader Lewis Hamilton seizing the advantage to seal a first Grand Prix win since the summer break.

Sebastian Vettel took a surprise lead at the start from third on the grid, leapfrogging pole-sitter and Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc and Mercedes’ Hamilton, with it soon emerging that Ferrari had plotted such a scenario pre-race as part of a plan to defend from Hamilton.

It worked, with Leclerc slotting into second, but when Vettel was asked to hand the place back to his team mate, the four-time world champion kept his foot down. After much discussion, and some consternation from Leclerc on team radio, the red duo settled into rhythm until the pit stops.

Leclerc pitted first and set a flurry of fastest laps which proved enough to undercut Vettel and regain what would have been the net lead. But on his first lap out of the pits Vettel pulled over on track with an energy recovery problem, to his absolute dismay. There was worse to come for Ferrari, though, because that retirement triggered the Virtual Safety Car, neutralising the race.

This allowed Hamilton, whose Mercedes team had instructed him to extend his stint on the medium tyres, to get what essentially amounted to a free pit stop. The Briton boxed for soft tyres and rejoined comfortably ahead of Leclerc, with the other Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas pitting and rejoining third.

A full Safety Car was then required when George Russell suffered an apparent brake issue, pitching the Williams driver into the barriers. Ferrari took the opportunity to bring Leclerc in for a fresh set of softs, dropping him behind Bottas but hopeful he could attack both Silver Arrows with a little over 20 laps to go.

But try as he might, Leclerc couldn’t get close enough to launch a proper attack on Bottas, while Hamilton was able to cruise away at the front, even having enough breathing space to pump in the fastest lap of the race to secure the extra bonus point.

The Briton crossed the line to secure his ninth victory of the season, stretching his championship lead to 73 points – almost the equivalent of three race wins – with just five Grands Prix remaining. Bottas, having rebuffed Leclerc, ended up second to give Mercedes their fourth one-two in Sochi in six attempts.

Leclerc completed the podium, failing in his bid to snatch the fastest lap of the race, with Max Verstappen in a lonely fourth place. His Red Bull team mate Alexander Albon pulled off a brilliant recovery from a pit lane start to rescue fifth, ahead of McLaren’s Carlos Sainz.

Racing Point’s Sergio Perez scored points for the third time in four races with seventh, with McLaren’s Lando Norris eighth. Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg completed the top 10, the former after having five seconds added to his race time for an off-track moment several laps before the flag.

But the day belonged to Mercedes, who brilliantly took advantage of a supreme slice of luck to secure their eighth one-two of the season to edge closer to their sixth successive constructors’ championship title.

Girl Hides in Bush to Take Photos During Sister’s Engagement

There are no lengths Therese Merkel wouldn’t go to for her older sister Rachel, and that includes disguising herself as a bush to snap some super sweet engagement photos. Yep, a week before Rachel’s then-boyfriend Andrew Philibeck planned to propose, Therese and her brother Ryan walked the trail to Picnic Point in Madison, WI (aka the proposal spot) to devise the perfect plan for their sister’s engagement. “I was like ‘Haha, what if I was a bush?” and Andrew is the one who really ran with it,” Therese told POPSUGAR via email. “I got this text [from him] later that night . . . It was then real.”

A month before the engagement, Andrew called Therese to ask for her approval before he proposed, and to ask for some help in crafting an engagment plan Rachel would never forget. Almost immediately, Therese, the family videographer, knew she was going to have to figure out a way to video tape her sister’s reaction during the big moment . . . in secret, of course.

Andrew called ahead to get special permission to decorate Pincic Point with sunflowers — Rachel’s favorite flowers — and glowing lanterns. Then, at sundown on Sept. 21, Therese got into position, blending in almost seamlessly with the trees and shrubbery around her. “While I was hiding, I had the perfect view of the whole thing,” she said. “Andrew knew I was hiding and wasn’t even sure I was there when he walked down — that’s how baller this suit was. He wrote her a loving poem, and then got down on one knee — well, at least tried, because the ring got stuck in his pocket during attempt one . . . She said yes during attempt two.”

“Rachel was very confused and I was legit crying tears of joy because of how special the whole event was.”

During the proposal, Ryan and a few others were posted further down the trail to make sure the coast was clear for the sweet moment and Therese’s hilarious reveal. “I revealed my organic-looking self by screaming ‘SHE SAID YES! SHE SAID YES!'” Therese explained. “Rachel was very confused and I was legit crying tears of joy because of how special the whole event was. I wore the suit the full mile hike back . . . and yes, I did have Rachel give me a tick check when we got back to my place.”

Afterwards, both Andrew and Rachel’s immediate families got together for a suprise party, in which Therese was (probably) not disguised as a bush. “The bush was one of the 4,932 things Andrew did to make the day super awesome and family-oriented,” Therese added, pointing out the surprise party, the creative engagment, and Rachel’s gorgeous engagement ring as just a few elements that made the day so special.

In addition to all of Andrew’s thoughtful planning, Therese’s dedication to capturing Rachel’s immediate reaction proves just how far a sister-sister duo will go for each other. So sweet! See more photos of Therese’s fantastic costume and the shrub-tastic engagment ahead.

Ghana Star Thomas Partey Rated High In Goalless Madrid Derby

Ghana star, Thomas Partey has been rated high in the goalless Madrid on Saturday evening.

Atletico Madrid hosted Real Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the matchday seven.

Partey was named by Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone, in the starting lineup and in return, he gave a good show for the team but unfortunately, they could not find the back of the net despite creating some good chances.

The results leave Diego Simeone’s side on the league log with 14 points at the 3rd position.

Atlético Madrid
Jan Oblak – 7 – A towering presence. Highlight an unreal diving stop from Karim Benzema late on.

Kieran Trippier – 7 – Atlético’s main attacking outlet. Constantly available down the right. Used the ball smartly, and even defended Eden Hazard well.

Stefan Savic – 7 – A solid display.

José Giménez – 7 – Colossal as always. Really relished (and dominated) the physical battles with the Madrid forwards.

Renan Lodi – 5 – Bright early on, but struggled to cope with the intensity of the game. Subbed on the hour.

Thomas Partey – 8 – Exceptional display. Solid defensively and constantly drove Atleti forward with his passing and movement. No one on the pitch was anywhere near his level, nor could they get there (and they sure tried). Looked like (ironically, given the opposition) Fernando Redondo reborn. A supreme display.

Koke – 4 – Didn’t stamp authority on the game. A floating nothing of a display.

Saúl – 5 – Pedestrian. Moved to left-back for the last 30 minutes where he showed a bit more gumption.

Vitolo – 5 – Ran hard but rarely with a focused end product. Wasted attacks on both flanks. Hooked at half-time.

Joao Felix – 5 – Should have scored early on when sent through by Costa. A few bright moments but faded majorly after half-time. Subbed with 20 minutes remaining.

Diego Costa – 5 – Missed a stunning chance on the half-hour. Battled well but clearly lost a step, physically.

Substitutes:
Angel Correa (for Vitolo ’46) – 6 – Instantly moved it quicker and with more purpose.

Thomas Lemar (for Lodi ’60) – 5 – Added more purpose and drive but had absolutely nothing in the final third.

Marcos Llorente (for Joao Felix ’70) – 5 – Did little.

Real Madrid
Thibaut Courtois – 6 – Made some impressive interventions.

Dani Carvajal – 7 – Worked hard up and down the right all night long. A ferocious display.

Raphael Varane – 7 – Devoured any and all Atleti attacks.

Sergio Ramos – 6 – Lucky to avoid an early yellow. Otherwise solid even if he trod the disciplinary tightrope on occasion.

Nacho – 7 – Crucial block on the half-hour, got his body between Costa and the ball and prevented a goal. Repeatedly put his body on the line for Madrid and created a superb chance for Benzema late o. A warrior performance.

Casemiro – 6 – Tackled as always. Couldn’t get a handle on Thomas.

Fede Valverde – 7 – Added a tremendous amount of steel to the Madrid midfield. A constant source of energy and defensive cover when Los Blancos needed it. Unlucky to be taken off.

Toni Kroos – 6 – Sprayed passes and shots but was shut down and outplayed by Thomas.

Gareth Bale – 4 – Tried to make things happen but it wasn’t working. Wasted Madrid’s best chance with a horrendous shot.

Eden Hazard – 4 – Madrid’s big signing was kept quiet by Atleti. A few impressive runs couldn’t disguise that he was massively unfit and completely at odds with all his team-mates.

Karim Benzema – 5 – Isolated. Unlucky to not score with a late header. Subbed at the death.

Substitutes:
Luka Modric (for Valverde 68′) – 7 – Put in a great cross just seconds after coming on. Looked bright and full of ideas.

James Rodriguez (for Hazard 77′) – 6 – Looked sharp.

Luka Jovic (for Benzema 88′) – n/a – n/a

Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey was very influential Atletico Madrid, on Saturday in their goalless draw with Real Madrid.

Partey was named in Atletico Madrid starting line up by head coach Diego Simeone but could not propel the team to victory against the 13 times European champions at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The 26-year-old dictated the midfield and allowed the likes of Joao Felix and Kieran Trippier to the freedom to do their best in an attacking sense.

However, Partey got himself into the referee’s book in the 93rd minute.

Spanish football expert, Sid Lowe, described Partey as “the game’s most outstanding player”, in his match for the British paper, The Guardian.

The Black Stars midfielder was at the heart of most positive things for Atletico Madrid’s men.

‘Learn From Raheem Sterling To Be The Best’

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has implored Callum Hudson-Odoi to copy Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling to reach the next level.

The English born Ghanaian winger made his first Blues appearance of the season in their devastating 7-1 Carabao Cup cup win over Grimsby Town and came off the bench in the Premier League victory against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The 18-year-old highly-rated winger was sidelined for over 140 days after sustaining a serious ankle injury, marked his return with a goal against Grimsby and followed it up with an assist at home to Brighton.

Since coming through Chelsea’s esteemed academy he’s been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich that dominated much of last season.

However, Hudson Odoi earlier this month committed his long-term future to the Stamford Bridge-based team, which delighted manager Lampard who has given many of the club’s youngsters ample playing time under his tenure.

Expected to have a great career, Lampard feels for Hudson-Odoi to become “the best” he could do no wrong in following the example of Manchester City winger Sterling, who in the last few seasons under Pep Guardiola has gone from having big potential to being considered among the game’s very best.

“I know Callum’s talent and he has got huge talent. Hence why the club were so keen to get him signed up and we’re all delighted with that as a club,” he told reporters.

“But there’s a lot of work for Callum to do. Lots of work. I think you can look around and look at fantastic examples and not even at this club.

“I don’t like to talk about other club’s players but Raheem Sterling is an incredible example of a player with great talent whose work ethic added to that talent and [showed] improvement in a short period of time through absolute dedication [to become] a complete player that we are all wowed by. [Sterling] is exactly the great model for Callum, because he has those talents.

“I want him to be the best, the absolute best, because he has the potential to do that and a lot of that or some of that is some hard truths and I saw some hard truths in the game the other day and ways that he can improve and he needs to listen to them and he will. And then he can be that player for us, which is great news for everybody.”

Manchester City Hold Off Resilient Everton

Manchester City had to work hard to see off a spirited Everton side and stay five points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling both struck in the final 20 minutes to give City victory after they had wasted some good chances, but they needed two excellent saves by Ederson to hold off the Toffees.

It was a convincing end to a tense evening, with Pep Guardiola’s side going to a murky Merseyside knowing only victory would suffice after seeing the Reds maintain their flawless start earlier on Saturday.

The defending champions started well and, after Ilkay Gundogan somehow hit the bar from point-blank range, they took a deserved lead thanks to another moment of genius from Kevin De Bruyne.

His trademark whipped cross from the right was nodded home by Gabriel Jesus, giving the Belgian his eighth assist of a stellar campaign.

That spelled trouble for Everton, whose boss Marco Silva was under pressure before kick-off after back-to-back league defeats, but they responded well and were soon level.

Toffees substitute Alex Iwobi fought his way into the box and the ball dropped for Seamus Coleman, who beat Ederson with a dinked shot before Dominic Calvert-Lewin made sure of the equaliser with a diving header on the line.

City were playing some neat football but with top scorer Sergio Aguero starting on the bench along with David Silva and Bernardo Silva, they could not make it count in the final third.

Sterling should have restored their lead at the start of the second half when he ran clear from a delightful Mahrez pass, but his first-time finish fizzed wide.

Everton were asking questions too, particularly from set-pieces, before Mahrez provided the spark City had been waiting for when he curled home a stunning free-kick into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

The home side refused to lie down and Ederson made vital stops from Calvert-Lewin then Yerry Mina, but Sterling made sure of the points when he forced the ball home after Aguero’s cross-shot was saved.
