Target’s Halloween Pajamas For Women Are Simply Boo-tiful

Target has given me an excuse to wear pajamas on Halloween, ’cause there’s nothing spooky about handing out candy in your coziest clothes. The beloved superstore keeps a collection of soft PJs in stock for women year round, but around the holidays they really escalate their game.

This year, Target shoppers are going wild over Nite Nite Munki Munki Women’s Halloween Pajamas ($28) that look great for a snuggly night in. Plus, judging from all the photos shared on social media, they’re fit for the Instagram feed. The pajamas come in two patterns: black with cats, ghosts, and jack-o-lanterns, and gray with a candy design. The scariest thing about these sets is how fast they’re flying off shelves, so take a peek at what’s still in stock below.

How to Have a Modern Goth Halloween Wedding

Photographer Allie Marie had always taken pictures with a dark aesthetic, and for this styled wedding shoot, she decided to take her moody technique to the next level. Her vision was to create an alternative wedding that pushed the boundaries, one that you don’t see every day, and her goth “until death do us part” theme captured just that.

“Weddings, of course, are all about two souls finding one another and vowing their lives to each other, but they also should be a reflection of those two souls and personalities. It’s OK to be different. Different is beautiful!” Said Allie about the shoot.

The photos were taken on the grounds of The Ostreum in Fort Worth, TX, and its industrial design blends perfectly with the wedding’s theme. The bride wore a gorgeous, long-sleeve velvet green dress while the groom wore an all-black tux with a black bow tie. Together, the models looked stunning against their haunted backdrop.

If you want to see more of the steamy “until death do us part” theme, keep reading to see all the pictures.

Lyon Punish Dreadful Defending To Beat Leipzig

Olympique Lyonnais forwards Memphis Depay and Martin Terrier made the most of dreadful defensive errors to score in a 2-0 Champions League win at RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

The visitors took the lead in the 11th minute when Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate gave the ball away cheaply in his own half to Houssem Aouar, and his pass found Depay, who slotted it under keeper Peter Gulacsi.

Leipzig’s Timo Werner provided a constant threat up front but a ludicrous attempt at a stepover on the edge of his own box by Nordi Mukiele gifted the ball to Terrier, and he rounded the keeper to score his side’s second in the 65th minute.

The win puts Lyon second in Group G on four points, behind Zenit St Petersburg, who beat bottom side Benfica 3-1 at home, on goal difference. Leipzig are third on three points.

Suarez At The Double As Barcelona Break Down Impressive Inter

Luis Suarez scored a scintillating double and the returning Lionel Messi set up the winner as Barcelona came from behind to beat Inter Milan in a thrilling contest at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Lautaro Martinez fired Inter ahead after just two minutes and Antonio Conte’s side, mean in defence and ruthless on the break, looked capable of pulling off an historic victory in Group F.

But Suarez broke down the Italians’ determined back-line with a stunning volley just before the hour and then finished off a weaving Messi run in the 84th minute to complete a pulsating 2-1 win.

Inter had never beaten Barcelona away from home in the Champions League but were the better side for long spells, particularly in the first half when they should have added to their one-goal lead.

Instead, Barca’s deadly duo came up trumps again, Suarez breaking through just as the hosts looked to be running out of ideas before Messi, back from injury, teed up his partner for the decisive second.

Inter play Juventus at home on Sunday, sitting top of Serie A after winning all of their six games so far and on this evidence, they could go far in Europe too.

Barcelona will be wary of the return fixture at the San Siro in December, which could yet decide who wins this group.

For Ernesto Valverde’s team, a hard-fought victory, combined with Messi’s return, will come as a welcome boost to morale and momentum after consecutive victories in La Liga steadied the ship following a bumpy start.

While they had their star striker back for only his second start of the season, Inter were without theirs, Romelu Lukaku ruled out with a thigh strain.

The first half was an engrossing battle of control against counter-attack as Barcelona had 67 per cent of the ball but Inter more of the clear-cut chances.

The pattern was set by Inter scoring early, after 122 seconds, as Gerard Pique was pulled out of position and Martinez sprinted into the gap, holding off Clement Lenglet before finishing inside the far post.

For half an hour, Barcelona played well, switching the ball from one side to the other in an attempt to dislodge the dogged Inter defence.

But the threat of their opponents on the break was always lurking and as the half wore on, Inter looked increasingly likely to grab a second.

Antonio Candreva scored but was ruled offside, Nicolo Barella would have but Nelson Semedo made a last-ditch block while Martinez and Alexis Sanchez both went close, the former drawing an excellent save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Willian’s Late Strike Earns Chelsea Win At Lille

Willian’s brilliant late strike gave Chelsea a precious a 2-1 win away to Lille on Wednesday that they will hope kickstarts their Champions League campaign, but it was the young stars in Frank Lampard’s side who stole the show again.

The Brazilian volleyed home in the 78th minute to decide the game under the roof at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on what was his 300th appearance for the club.

Tammy Abraham had earlier put Chelsea in front on his 22nd birthday with his eighth goal already this season, only for Victor Osimhen to equalise for Lille.

Chelsea are now off the mark in Group H after losing at home to Valencia a fortnight ago, although it is Ajax who continue to top the section with a maximum six points.

“Overall it was a good game. It’s never an easy place to play. Give it to the team, what a fantastic performance,” Abraham told BT Sport.

Lampard’s team face Ajax next and will do so with renewed belief after this potentially pivotal victory.

“It is such a tough place – the roof was on, the crowd were up for it, the speed in their team and on the counter-attack especially was very evident, so we had to be ready for it and I thought our performance was really good,” said Lampard.

It was a game decided by one of the most experienced players on the pitch but which was bristling with exciting young talent as these clubs adjust to seeing their standout players – Eden Hazard on one side, Nicolas Pepe on the other – depart in the close season.

Lampard fielded two 24-year-olds as well as four more players aged 22 or under in his line-up here, as teenager Reece James started as a right wing-back in a 3-4-1-2 system.

James only made his top-team debut for the club a week ago in a League Cup tie against fourth-tier Grimsby Town. His second-half replacement, Callum Hudson-Odoi, set up the winning goal.

“This isn’t a game for niceties, we have to go and win these matches and improve all the time and there were loads of signs of team improvement tonight, and individuals,” Lampard added.

“The young players are responding and they have to keep doing it because the Champions League level is something else.”

Much has been made of Lampard’s promotion of youth this season in response to Chelsea’s transfer ban, although their team here also featured N’Golo Kante, with the France midfielder returning from his latest spell on the sidelines.

Indeed, the average age of Chelsea’s team at kick-off was actually a year older than that of Lille.

Salah Double Ensures Liverpool Survive Salzburg Scare

Liverpool survived a huge scare to get their Champions League defence back on track as Mohamed Salah scored twice in a thrilling 4-3 win over Salzburg at Anfield, despite blowing a three-goal lead.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring against his former club before Andy Robertson and Salah put the holders in command inside the first 36 minutes before Salzburg bore their teeth.

Liverpool’s storied history in this competition has been littered with famous comebacks from 3-0 down, but the shoe was nearly on the other foot after halftime as Salzburg threatened an incredible recovery.

The Austrian champions’ teenage striking sensation Erling Braut Haaland was only fit enough for a place on the bench, but they still packed a punch going forward and were rewarded when Hwang Hee-Chan pulled a goal back just before halftime.

Takumi Minamino and Haaland, just four minutes after coming on as a substitute, then brought Salzburg level on the hour mark.

However, Salah had the final word as the Egyptian smashed home the winner 21 minutes from time.

Liverpool were under pressure to make fortress Anfield count after losing 2-0 to Napoli on matchday one.

Jurgen Klopp’s men lost all three of their away group games last season but won all three of their home games to sneak through before going on to win the competition for a sixth time.

Liverpool 4 – 3 Red Bull Salzburg #ChampionsLeague

Champions League holders Liverpool collected their first win of the campaign by edging past Red Bull Salzburg in a seven-goal thriller at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side beat fellow Premier League club Tottenham in last season’s final, but started this term with defeat at Napoli in the opening game.

They were heading for a comfortable victory against Salzburg by going 3-0 up but were pegged back to 3-3 before Mohamed Salah struck.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring against his old club, exchanging passes with Roberto Firmino before coolly stroking in.

Andy Robertson finished off a slick team move, continuing his run and converting from close range via Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low cross.

Salah somehow thumped wide from close range when in on goal but made amends by rolling in the third after goalkeeper Cican Stankovic spilled Firmino’s header.

But Salzburg hit back before half-time through Hee-Chan Hwang’s brilliant effort, turning Virgil van Dijk and smashing into the far corner.

Takumi Minamino, who drilled a low shot narrowly wide in the opening two minutes, pulled another back with a lovely volley and substitute Erling Braut Haaland completed the comeback by tapping in from a couple of yards out before Salah struck.

Swedish Gov’t Injected $22m Into Ghana, Others

The MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, feels the government is in a tough position following the developments in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) brouhaha.

According to him, the NPP government is not being truthful in the matter.

In a statement, the former Deputy Education Minister said the controversy will be tough for the government to navigate “as long as they refuse to be candid and transparent over the CSE saga.”

“Only sincere backtracking and a total full disclosure shall set Government free.”

The government and United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) launched the CSE programme in February 2019 but in the past week, concerns have been raised about the potential for pupils to be given awareness of sexuality and LGBTQ issues at too early a stage.

The Government cleared the air on the matter saying the approved curriculum framework for basic schools does not include CSE.

Since the government’s statement, observers have pointed out contradictions in the government’s earlier reception to CSE.

At the launch in February, the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said:

“It is in this light that Ghana welcomes the ‘O3’ initiative and the Regional Acceleration program which seeks to accelerate and deepen the scope of existing CSE in six beneficiary countries.”

Amid the confusion, Mr. Ablakwa noted the government will also need to appease the Swedish government, which he claimed has already contributed money to the programme.

The governments of Sweden and Ireland are known to be sponsors of the programme.

“On one hand they need to calm down outraged Ghanaians who are running out of patience with the many official contradictions and untruths; on the other hand they need to convince the Swedish Government which has already committed $22million to Ghana and the other 5 CSE Program Acceleration Countries that Ghana will justify the use of their tax payer dollars especially when one of the key deliverables upon which our Government received the first tranche of money is a promise to ‘overcome social resistance and operational constraints.’”

In addition, Mr. Ablakwa also said the government had to deal with the United Nations Population Fund “in the face of current denials after agreeing with them to provide CSE technical support to the GES.”

Find below his full statement

This is going to be a tough manoeuvre for the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and more generally the Akufo-Addo government as long as they refuse to be candid and transparent over the CSE saga.

On one hand they need to calm down outraged Ghanaians who are running out of patience with the many official contradictions and untruths; on the other hand they need to convince the Swedish Government which has already committed $22million to Ghana and the other 5 CSE Program Acceleration Countries that Ghana will justify the use of their tax payer dollars especially when one of the key deliverables upon which our Government received the first tranche of money is a promise to “overcome social resistance and operational constraints.”

Also, what will our Government be telling UNFPA in the face of current denials after agreeing with them to provide CSE technical support to the GES?

Then, what happens to the contract signed with the special CSE Project Implementation Officer operating from the UNESCO Ghana office?

Already, Ghanaian teachers have exposed the Minister of Education with page 11 of the Teacher Resource Pack for Primary 1 – 6 which shamefully contradicts the Minister’s assertions in his signed statement that there is no inclusion of CSE.

The Ghanaian people are certainly more informed about this issue than Government assumes. Only sincere backtracking and a total full disclosure shall set Government free.

Very interesting days ahead.

Rosewood Smuggling Reduced To Barest Minimum – Committee

Chairman of the seven-member committee probing allegations of rosewood smuggling in Ghana, Benito Owusu-Bio says his Committee has been able to reduce the smuggling of rosewood to the barest minimum.

Government has in the past been criticized for its seeming lack of seriousness towards the fight against the illegal felling of rosewood in the country.

Chinese fugitive, Helena Huang was arrested with four containers of rosewood she was allegedly smuggling out of the country.

She was subsequently deported and no formal charges were pressed against her.

A committee was set following the development.

Updating the public on the work of the Rosewood Committee, its Chairman who doubles as a Deputy Lands and Natural resources minister, Benito Owusu Bio said they have so far completed 65 percent of their work.

“I tell you, it has been reduced currently to the barest minimum in terms of its transportation because now what we intend doing is to help Ghana Customs [Service] at the port for them to be able to even identify the species and also identify the work we are doing.”

Government through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources inaugurated a seven-member committee to investigate the findings of the US-based Environmental Investigations Agency’s (EIA) publication that alleged that rosewood smuggling is rampant in the country despite the ban.

The committee was headed by the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural resources, Benito Owusu-Bio.

Members of the committee had five weeks to investigate the matter and report their findings.

Power Restored To Wa UDS, Polytechnic

Power has been restored to the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) and the Wa Polytechnic, 24 hours after they were taken off from the national grid.

The two institutions were disconnected for nonpayment of electricity bills amounting to GHS 7 million.

According to the Volta River Authority-Northern Electricity Distribution Company (VRA-NEDCo) the Wa campus of UDS had not paid their bills since 2013 amounting to GHS3 million.

The case of Wa Polytechnic is different. They haven’t paid their bills since the polytechnic was upgraded to a Higher National Diploma awarding institutions in 2007.

They owe VRA-NEDCo a little over GHS4 million. The blackout brought academic and administrative works at the schools to a halt.

At an emergency meeting that was arranged by Upper West Regional Minister, Dr, Hafiz Bin Salih and attended by high ranking officials from the Wa campus of UDS, Wa Polytechnic and VRA-NEDCo, it was decided that power should be restored to the two institutions immediately they organise payments.

The two institutions have up to a week to settle their debts.

The Governing Council of the UDS is to meet next week, October 9, and the issue of unpaid bills would be seriously looked at.

Wa District Supervisor of VRA-NEDCO, Martin Ayimadu, told Joy News they have given the institutions the benefit of the doubt for now and would not hesitate to disconnect them again if they fail to settle part of the colossal amount of money owed.

Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih said he is in touch with the relevant government agencies responsible for the payment of the debt and is hopeful of positive results.
