The Only Legacy Nana Akufo-Addo Has Vowed To Bequeath To Ghanaians Is LGBT—NDC Deputy Secretary

A Deputy Secretary of the opposition NDC in the Asante Akim Central Constituency who doubles as a Communications Team Member of the Ashanti Regional NDC, Emmanuel Opoku Mensah, has said on Fox Morning drive that the only legacy Nana Akufo-Addo has vowed to bequeath to Ghanaians is the LGBT.

“If we do not take care, the biggest legacy Nana Akufo-Addo would bequeath to Ghanaians will be gaysm, lesbianism and the like…,” he said in a dejected tone.

He attributed his claim to the back and forth position assumed by the Education Minister relative to the implementation of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) as part of the new curriculum introduced at the basic schools in Ghana this academic year.

According to Mr. Opoku, the NPP communicators initially dismissed the guidelines on the CSE which was in wide circulation; however, paragraph five of a statement issued by Cassandra Twum-Ampofo, the GES PRO referenced same document giving credence to the fact that the guidelines were not a creation of the NDC or its assigns.

He further argued that he had in his possession, a video of the minister for education telling the world that the government would implement the Comprehensive Sexuality Education in September this year.

The vociferous communicator said his belief in the secret intentions of the Akufo-Addo government to surreptitiously creep the program into the curricula is fuelled by what Prophet Kwabena Tawiah once said that the Nana Akufo-Addo government has turned its back to God after he (Prophet Tawiah) led the NPP to seek God’s favor for electoral success in election 2016.

Speaking to journalists in Kumasi after the program, Mr. Opoku added that he has chanced on documents culled from Ghanaian Language and English Language curricula all of which had the controversial CSE incorporated in them.

In buttressing his claim further, he referred journalists to page 86, paragraph 369, of the 2019 budget statement which also had captured the CSE program already to be implemented in September 2019.

“According to the budget statement, the finance minister said inter alia, ‘…the National Population Council (NPC) in collaboration with other stakeholders developed guidelines on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to incorporate into the national education curriculum’.

…Having quoted this from this year’s budget statement, do you still want us to take the education minister seriously giving the clear quagmire of lies he’s entangled in?”, he quizzed.

The worried-looking communicator questioned why the minister has turned blind eye to technologically-based curricula America Germany and even China have evolved for their children but rather, he is advocating curricula that would not only destroy our moral fibre as a people but would see to the extinction of our cultural practices and norms.

According to him, some parents are even threatening not to enroll their children in schools for the fear that CSE may introduce their children to the abhorred homosexuality among other bad practices.

“In view of this, I call on the media especially, the civil society organizations, the Christian and Muslim communities, the traditional priests, our traditional rulers, and all God-fearing persons to wage an unrelenting war against this abomination the NPP through the education ministry is clandestinely introducing into our society,” Mr. Opoku passionately appealed.

Notorious Ghanaian Fraudster Grabbed In France

A fraudster who funded luxury holidays by conning people out of their bank details in “an industrial scale” text message scam has been arrested and jailed.

Emanuel Poku, 24, of Enfield, was pictured enjoying a helicopter ride in Mexico, and posed next to a luxury car by the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

When arrested, Poku had 500,000 phone numbers and 35,000 bank card numbers, linked to more than £2 million of reported losses, on laptops and mobiles.

He used dozens of Sim cards to trick customers into giving away financial and personal details.

Thousands of “smishing” text messages imitating banks and mobile phone companies were sent containing links to fake websites. The details given by unsuspecting victims were then used to steal money from people’s accounts.

Poku, who was found with more than £12,000 in cash in his home, went on a number of luxury holidays abroad funded through the proceeds of his crimes. City of London Police estimated more than £5.8 million worth of fraud was disrupted or prevented as a result of its investigation.

At Inner London crown court Poku admitted £50,000 of fraud between January and April this year, pleading guilty to conspiracy to defraud, possession of an article used in fraud and possession of a false passport. He was jailed for two years and nine months.

Detective Sergeant Ben Hobbs said: “Emanuel Poku was committing fraud on an industrial scale, funding luxury holidays around the world by stealing money from unsuspecting victims. His devices had been used to send ‘smishing’ text messages to thousands of customers, trying to trick them into giving away their details before using Sim swaps to complete fraudulent transactions.”

He added: “We would urge people to always be on the lookout for this kind of scam. Never automatically click on a link in an unexpected text message or email, as it could be a fraudster trying to harvest your personal and bank details.”

The prime object of the exercise was to sanitise the area and to further help impact positively on the lives of residents in order to prevent diseases.

The event which was held last week recorded a huge turn out in the area with a display of youthful enthusiasm throughout the period of the sanitation campaign.

In an interview with the media, Louis Appiah stated that during the exercise, the group swept the streets and the surroundings.

“We also distilled the drains in and around the Koforidua Trotro and Central Police Station areas. Luke 11:25 says and I quote ‘And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order’ emphasising the Bible’s position on God and his cleanliness nature,” he said.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the various youth groups and individuals who helped to make the event a big success,

“I will like to use this opportunity to thank my youth wing, Staunch Queens and All Nations Tescon, for taking part and making this exercise a success. To my deputy (Afia Mai) and Secretary for the Youth Wing – (Bature); I say God bless you Richly. Little by little, with each and everyone involved, we will succeed together

The cleanup exercise was climaxed with a fun-packed Kenkey Party, as a side attraction at the Constituency Office.

Louis Appiah hinted that the next activity will be held within this month of October 2019.

Report Corrupt Officer To Chiefs, Local Authorities

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has called on communities without police stations or security facility, to report corrupt practices to their chiefs, District Chief Executives or any local lawmaker.

The Chief Director of CHRAJ, Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed, was of the view that this would help his office to reach out and investigate these complaints to ensure justice is served.

He made the call on Monday, October 3, at a sensitisation workshop on the Whistleblower Act 2006 (Act 720) in Accra.

According to him, it is important to have such key stakeholder workshops to conscientise all concerned, to help in the fight against corruption.

Alhaji Suleiman Ahmed reiterated the need for the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) document which he said, constitutes a national framework for combating corruption, to promote visible developments across the country.

“The state institutions have key roles as embedded in the document to implement so that collectively, we can fight corruption,” he explained.

On the Whistleblower Act, he said it is prudent for citizens to know that the Act provides a framework for individuals to disclose information of public interest that relates to unlawful or illegal conduct for action.

He was, however, unhappy that most people are unaware of this Act which also provides for disclosures on procurement breaches that are likely to occur.

The Director of Anti Corruption at CHRAJ, Charles Ayamdo, in his presentation on the role of the Commission in the implementation of the Whistleblower Act, cautioned authorities or individuals to desist from withholding information or disclosure by a whistleblower, as it can lead to severe sanctions and punishment of not less than a two-year jail term, if found capable.

He also assured whistleblowers of the necessary compensation and protection against victimisation.

State Attorney, Asiamah Sarpong, gave a detailed presentation on the Whistleblower Act 2006 (Act 720) while an official from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Abdul Latif Alhassan, took them through the procurement regulations.

Drop ‘Comprehensive Satanic Engagement’ Now — GPCC Demands

The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has described the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) program as “Comprehensive Satanic Engagement.”

GPCC wants the programme withdrawn entirely from the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum for basic schools.

There is intense pressure on the Ministry of Education and the GES to withdraw the program which critics consider as a subtle attempt to sexualize children and indoctrinate them into embracing homosexuality as a normal way of life.

The calls have deepened after the GES and the Ministry of Education gave contradictory explanations on the existence or otherwise of the policy in the curriculum.

Addressing the media on Thursday, the President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Rev. Prof Paul Yaw Frimpong-Manso labelled the subject as diabolic, as it will have negative consequences on children.

“We are here to address and state our official position on the raging debate and controversy of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education which I have termed Comprehensive Satanic Education because of the impact it can have on our children which the government through the Ministry of education intends or intended to introduce into the Basic Schools curriculum come the next academic year,” he said.

He further among other recommendations called for the withdrawal of CSE.

“Government should be transparent with the people of Ghana by publicly committing to completely withdrawing this policy instead of a mere assurance of suspension of implementation. This move we believe will engender trust between government and key stakeholders of our educational system. This mutual trust is currently missing and must be pursued now,” he stated.

Although the Minister of Education Matthew Opoku Prempeh earlier on denied all allegations concerning the introduction of CSE into the current curriculum, checks indicate that CSE has already been included in the curriculum.

The GPCC is not the only body that has called for the withdrawal or have raised concerns about the introduction of sexuality education into the system.

The African Education Watch, a non-government organization is also calling on government to as a matter of urgency terminate any plans to roll out the CSE and seek consultations from relevant stakeholders to come to an agreement on this move.

Martinelli Stars As Arsenal Thrash Standard Liege

Arsenal took charge of Group F in the Europa League with a rampant display against Standard Liege at the Emirates Stadium.

The three points were effectively secured in the opening 22 minutes. The electric Gabriel Martinelli scored twice in quick succession and Joe Willock soon added a third, as Arsenal’s hungry young players blew their opponents away.

More good work from Martinelli led to Dani Ceballos scoring his first goal for Arsenal in the second half. Arsenal created chances for fun from their left side, with Kieran Tierney and Reiss Nelson slicing through the Standard Liege’s defence at will.

Although the emphatic display will be asterisked due to a soporific display from the opposition, it did draw attention to the talent in Arsenal’s ranks as they try to push on and re-establish themselves in the top four of the Premier League. Manager Unai Emery will have much to consider ahead of Bournemouth’s visit to the Emirates on Sunday.
