Asamoah Gyan Signs For Indian Super League Side NorthEast United
Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has confirmed his move to India and signed for Super League side NorthEast United.
The 33-year-old is a former national team captain and has played in four FIFA World Cups, scoring six goals in the global showpiece event. The former Sunderland man is his country’s most-capped player. He has also finished twice as runners-up in the African Cup of Nations
Speaking on the signing, NorthEast United’s Executive Director, Priya Runchal said; “We are thrilled to have a player of Gyan’s caliber and experience join our squad. He has continuously delivered excellence at the highest of levels of world football and we are confident that he will add a lot of firepower on the pitch here.”
Asamoah Gyan, said, “I am extremely excited to start this new chapter in my career. I have heard great things about NorthEast United FC and the Indian Super League and I am thrilled to be a part of it for the upcoming season. I am confident that we can better the wonderful season the club had last year.”

Champions League: Kaka tips one player to lead club to win trophy this season
Brazil legend, Kaka has backed Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar to lead Thomas Tuchel’s side to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
Neymar, who served the first of his two-match Champions League ban in PSG’s 3-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday, did everything possible to leave the club before the European transfer window closed in the summer.
But Kaka now believes his fellow countryman can be the leader to lead PSG to win their first Champions League trophy after failing to leave the club.
“For Neymar, I think it’s good to stay there in PSG for now. I think it’s good for him, for the club,” Kaka was quoted by Sky Sport as saying.
“I think PSG is always trying to build a great team to win the Champions League, so he can be the leader for this project and, in my opinion, it’s good. It will be a great year for him.”
Kaka added: “Our expectation with him is for him to be the guy for the next World Cup for us.
“I think it’s hard for him but I think every year he’s more mature, he understands his position in the national team better as well and it’s good.

The Impossible Burger is finally available at grocery stores
The Impossible Burger will finally hit grocery store shelves on Friday.
Starting Sept. 20, the national Impossible Burger rollout begins in Southern California. The plant-based burger will be available at 27 Gelson’s locations.
The move comes after the FDA OKed Impossible Foods’ use of soy leghemoglobin in August, allowing it to sell Impossible Burgers raw. The heme molecule is, among other things, what gives meat its aroma and flavor. Soy leghemoglobin is Impossible Foods’ plant-based version of this molecule, replicating that aroma and flavor without the need for, you know, meat.
The company posted a lengthy and interesting (really!) blog about heme, soy leghemoglobin, and how it all factors into their mission.
While available at restaurants, the Impossible Burger got a huge publicity boost recently thanks to a deal with Burger King for the Impossible Whopper. And now SoCal consumers can see what the fuss is about.
But never fear, everyone else: TechCrunch reports the brand will expand to grocery stores nationwide through the end of the year, and an unnamed East Coast chain is next.
The company’s CFO, David Lee, told CNET that the company is being careful and calculated in its release plan: “We want to make sure we do this right. So we’re focusing on a smaller, high-quality retailer, just like we started with smaller restaurants.”
Now, along with Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger, vegetarians and curious carnivores can buy several plant-based burger options at their local grocery store.

Footballer Shot Dead In Amsterdam
Police in Amsterdam have launched a manhunt for two men on a black scooter, after they killed a footballer, Kelvin Maynard on Wednesday night.
Kelvin Maynard, a former Burton Albion defender was shot and killed near a fire station, while in his car.
He was 32 years old. The Dutch-Surinamese player was playing for non-league Dutch club Quick Boys.
Local reports said Maynard, who also once played for Royal Antwerp was attempting to escape the gunmen by driving towards a nearby fire station.
He crashed into the station and firefighters attempted to help Maynard. But he tragically died from his injuries, reported The SUN.
Police are appealing for information on the men on the scooter.
A police statement said:
“We can confirm that the fatal victim of the shooting incident on Langbroekdreef last night was 32-year-old Kelvin Maynard.
“The investigation into his death is in full swing.”

Footballer Shot Dead In Amsterdam
